       6th
      grade stain glass window

Objectives: To learn how to recognize and mix with
the primary and secondary colors to create intermediates.  Learn the history of stain glass windows in the Gothic
      period.

Choices: Which lesson will challenge you, but you
      feel you can do successfully?

        - Create
a stain glass window using geometric shapes

        - Create
a stain glass window with a repeated design in two or four sections

        - Create
a stain glass window that tells a story in 4 sections of the stain
          glass window.

Lesson 1, directions and grade sheet:

        - Follow
          directions on measurements

        - The
border should be painted in spectrum order

        - Divide
the paper up appropriately in the center to form 4 areas to create a
          symmetrical or radial design.

        - Create
a geometric design with approximately 20 shapes in each quadrant

        - Paint
the inside design with a variety of primary, secondary and
          intermediate colors.

        - Paint
          Neatly

Lesson 2, directions and grade sheet:

        - Follow
          directions on measurements

        - The
border should be painted in spectrum order

        - Divide
the center into 2 or 4 sections

        - Create
a design from a fish, bird, flower, or talk to me about any idea that
is different. Fill the design area so it touches all four sides

        - Transfer
that design to the 2 quadrants or 4 quadrants, make the designs
          reflect or radiate

        - Paint
the inside by making the main design in warm colors and the background
          in cool colors

        - Paint
          Neatly

Lesson 3, directions and grade sheet:

        - Follow
          directions on measurements

        - The
border should be painted in spectral order

        - Divide
the center into 4 sections; I want you to tell a sequential story in
the center. Each quadrant will be a different sequence in the story.
The designs should touch the edges in each quadrant; keep them simple
lines and shapes. Your story could be a nursery rhyme or children’s
          book, a holiday story, ect.

        - Paint
the foreground warm and the background cool

        - Paint
          neatly
